Afterdark: Can I camp overnight?
Camping is not something we anticipate happening in the future. The campervans on site over the weekend belong to our volunteers/organisers.
Afterdark: Can we bring our own alcohol?
No. Our licence forbids any consumption of alcoholic drinks not purchased from the bar.
Also, Party in the Park costs over £10,000 to run, therefore we rely heavily on our sponsors, ticket sales, and most importantly bar sales. Without the profit the bar makes the event simply would not be able to happen. This is why we ask everyone to only buy their drinks from the bar and not bring their own on to site. Our professional security team will be patrolling to enforce this rule.
We are happy to listen to suggestions about what the bar should stock and do our best to keep bar prices low while still making a profit.
Afterdark: Will there be fireworks?
No. As the field is extremely close to the M5, fireworks are not a good idea and will not be happening at any future event.
Afterdark: Will strobe lighting be used?
No. We have double checked with the DJ and bands and confirm that no strobe lights will be used.
Entertainment: What free stuff will be available?
The daytime is Free of Charge to come along and will have:
- Demos: “have a go” ‘Bounce Fit demonstration, Tae Kwon Do display and taster sessions; and Country Dancing.
- Family Games: Tug of War, Egg Toss, Sack Racing.
- Reptile handling.
- Gladiator jousting.
- Emergency Vehicles: Fire Engine and Police Van will be on site to look around.
- Climbing Wall: Can you make it to the top?
- Fizz Bang Science: exciting workshops and displays
The evening ticket price will include mini disco, 3 bands and a gladiator style activity for adults.
Entertainment: What will I need to pay for?
There is lots going on for free in the daytime including a science workshop, Arial acrobatics, emergency vehicles to explore, reptile handling & crafting and a climbing wall, however the following chargeable activities will also be on site:
- Bouncy Slide
- Donkey Rides
How do I get involved?

If you are a business that can help us out by sponsoring the event with cash, raffle prize, or a service then please do contact us as we can offer a comprehensive publicity package in return.
Refreshments: What food will be on offer?
Daytime: Chocolates, cakes, candyfloss, popcorn/candyfloss/sweets, tea/coffee & cake
Daytime and evening: fish n chips, pizza, hog roast, burgers & hot dogs, ice cream
Refreshments: Will there be a Farmers Market?
No. We have invited all the stalls from Taunton Farmers Market and others from the local area every year – but sadly there has been no interest from them in attending. We would welcome this sort of stall to future events.
Refreshments: Will vegetarian and gluten free food be on offer?
All the food is supplied by external caterers and we specifically request that they offer a vegetarian option. It will be up to the vendors if they also cater for other restricted diets such as gluten free.
Stalls: What stalls will there be?
There will be over 30 stalls/stands including commercial stalls selling a range of goods, we welcome community groups and charities.

Tickets: How much are tickets?
The daytime is free for all to enjoy but the Afterdark event is ticket only. Discounted advance purchase Adult tickets cost £5 and child tickets are £1.
We have a limited number of tickets to sell, ONLY IF there are still any tickets available, potentially there may be some available on the gate at £10 adult and £2 for children.

You will be able to purchase tickets at Creech St Michael School Fair.

Will there be a dog show?
No. Dogs are not allowed at the Recreation Park and there is already a yearly dog show that happens at The Bell, so this is not something we want to add to the PIP event.
